I am Elsa

A passionate French teacher

After obtaining my French Literary Master’s degree, I obtained my French Literature and Grammar Teaching Credential in 2005. After completing this degree, I worked as a state certified teacher for 10 years. Moreover, I taught at the Paul Valéry University in Montpellier and at the video production school in Nîmes. I then completed a psychology course at the University in order to improve my pedagogical approach.
Since 2015, I have been working as a freelance teacher and adult educator. I provide training for French government officials and for adults who wish to improve their French. That’s why I have completed a teacher training to teach for foreign adults.

Teaching the French language is the ideal way for me to meet passionate people, to discuss cultural differences and especially to further perfect my teaching thanks to the diversity of expectations of my students.

Teaching, for me, is above all a sharing with others. It is a real satisfaction to allow everyone to have access to the knowledge of the French language and its culture and above all to flourish. My stays are therefore an authentic encounter because I think with my head (course) and my heart (sharing, discussion, experience). Vincent my husband and Apolline our daughter, are invested in stays. They will, just like me, be keen to welcome you into the family as if you were part of it.
I keep many contacts with the people I have been able to welcome during an immersion stay. An immersion stay with me and my family will bring you more than grammar: a new friendship.

We will spend all our days together so that you can progress quickly. On Sunday evening and Friday evening, you will be invited to our villa, on the hills of Nîmes, to spend authentic and warm moments with my family and me.

Student's testimonials

Julia Brady, Mc Kinney, Texas, USA

Elsa tailors her instruction to the needs of her students. Being immersed in the language provides significant opportunities to practice what is learned each day. The hospitality of her family was unparalleled and the accomodation was very high quality. I cannot recommend French immersion instruction with Elsa highly enough, and I look forward to visiting them again in the future.

Kristina Holland, Paris, France

I moved in France with absolutely no funnctioning skills in French. Immediatly, I improved my speaking abilities while working with Elsa. As an American, I found Elsa herself as an educator to be kind, patient, well organizes, understanding, passionate and well rounded. Not only is she a fabulous educator she is a wonderful, mother and wife.

Kay Spreitzet, Chicago, Illinois, USA

When I arrived in Nîmes as a nervous beginner student, I could barely utter one complete sentence. From the start, with Elsa's experienced and comfortable methods, I was able to engage in simple conversationns using the limited vocabulary I knew. And Elsa is an excellent cook and dessert maker, so you will have a delicious end to your day, immersed in tasty French food and wonnderful conversations with her, Vincent et Apolline. I found Elsa to be a creative, knowledgeable and engaging teacher.

Laura Hartnell, Melbourne, Australia

Elsa is an intuitive, attentive and patient teacher who brings out the best in each student. Her generosity, sens of humour and dedication make you feel very cared for, and along with Vincent and Apolline, I felt welcome as part of their family.
